Well, our hockey team played to a stunning 3-1 defeat last Thursday night. It was actually a closer game than it sounds because it was still 1-0 coming into the third period. However our efforts were in vain. I did manage to get a good sermon illustration out of the deal however. During the game I bumped one of the opposing players against the boards, and before I could say didely squat he had his gloves off and was trying to reshape the face cage on my helmet. He gave me a bit of a toothache, but I'll bet that he's got a pretty good hand-ache. O well, at least we got the power play. You'll notice that the picture has little to do with this story besides the fact that it was taken in the arena.

Home Alone...
...is definitely quite boring! As most of you probably know, all of the family has left to go to camp. This has put an exceptional amount of free time on my hands. I have to say, it can do funny things to your mind! Check this out-> since this week started I've cleaned out my car thoroughly, cooked french toast, and (no joke) cleaned out my sock drawer! I found matches for socks that I thought I'd lost years ago!

The Wedding as I saw it...
It was with great joy that I noticed this total knockout at the wedding. She even let me take her picture! Anyways, we started talking and it looks like we're going to be married come September 30th.

The whole "groomsmen" thing with Japheth is definitely getting to his head.
You'll notice that Joel is always equipped with the tools of the trade with a diaper in one hand and a Bible in the other.

On the Church pews, Jared is discussing with Brendan how difficult it is to for him to come to place where Matt is.
Half way through the ceremony, Brendan thought it would be funny if he got up and played twinkle, twinkle little star. (we were so mortified)Luke and Jeremy are having a father-son talk about what the responsibilities of a groom to his bride. While Ezra is a firm believer that white socks are always healthier to wear than black ones.

Dorcas and Matt were in a bit of a hurry so Joel quickly and proficiently married them during the rehearsal. (Just Kidding!)

How about an update???
Yes, I know. My job keeping this blog updated has been slacking this past week to say the least! But have no fear. My family has left the house for two weeks. This gives me way more time than any normal person should have to um... update a blog! As you can see in the pictures shown above. It was with good reason that I've been occupied. Number one, Cherie was here. Number two, Dorcas got married last week. It is with some distress that I've noted that my blog is currently the only one that shows less than about 349 pictures of Dorcas' wedding. Alas, I shall correct the problem (as Eugene from Adventures in Odyssey would say) post-haste! It's also with some glee that I can proudly say that fellow bloggers ribs and JByer are both at Camp so that means that I have an intensified freedom of the press. Actually, there's nothing I'd like better to do than be at camp right now. This will be the first one I've ever missed since I've been born. O well, not everyone can be on welfare.

Volley Ball Night at Burlington!
Yes, the tension was high and so was the humidity as Burlington Bible Methodist Youth Group battled out a best of three games. I'm terribly sorry but the editor must interject here to mention that uh... our team won. Note, pictured at left is a portrait of Amy which she posed for during the game. The games were followed by a good time of "chillin" at UDF.

Reassuring News from Iraq
Perhaps this will be the way for a more peaceful Iraq.

False alarm.
It was an interesting day at the Y where we had to shut the place down because it was believed that one of our windows was shot out by one of three bullets that was fired. As it turned out, the window was probably broken by a rock, and according to the Police, the supposed bullet holes were probably done by someone who enjoyed his/her baseball bat a little too much. But hey, the glass repairman said it was definitely bullet holes and I took him seriously. The picture is of the Dayton Teen Center where I work.

Same Picture Different Look
No matter how hard you try, it is entirely impossible to get tired of this picture or any other picture of similar likeness. The reason this picture was posted was because Japheth was asking questions about graphics. Stay tuned! I think there's more pictures with different graphics that I have saved here...

Congratulations David and Jessica!
I had the privilege of being a groomsmen in David and Jessica Hartkopf's wedding yesterday. It went very well and made me totally confident that I won't be nervous at all for mine come September! (Just Kidding!)
P.S. I took this picture of them just before they said their vows.

Three Stooges
Well I thought it would be fitting to post a picture up of David Hartkopf (far left). I just got back from rehearsal, and one of the best rehearsals dinners I've ever been too. Make that one of the best dinners - period! OK, enough about food. The wedding is tomorrow at 1:00 pm. Congratulations David and Jessica! Yeah, I know the picture is of us at the rink, but it was the only picture I had of him on my computer.
