Volley Ball Night at Burlington!

Yes, the tension was high and so was the humidity as Burlington Bible Methodist Youth Group battled out a best of three games. I'm terribly sorry but the editor must interject here to mention that uh... our team won. Note, pictured at left is a portrait of Amy which she posed for during the game. The games were followed by a good time of "chillin" at UDF.

Reassuring News from Iraq

Perhaps this will be the way for a more peaceful Iraq.

False alarm.

It was an interesting day at the Y where we had to shut the place down because it was believed that one of our windows was shot out by one of three bullets that was fired. As it turned out, the window was probably broken by a rock, and according to the Police, the supposed bullet holes were probably done by someone who enjoyed his/her baseball bat a little too much. But hey, the glass repairman said it was definitely bullet holes and I took him seriously. The picture is of the Dayton Teen Center where I work.

Same Picture Different Look

No matter how hard you try, it is entirely impossible to get tired of this picture or any other picture of similar likeness. The reason this picture was posted was because Japheth was asking questions about graphics. Stay tuned! I think there's more pictures with different graphics that I have saved here...

Congratulations David and Jessica!

I had the privilege of being a groomsmen in David and Jessica Hartkopf's wedding yesterday. It went very well and made me totally confident that I won't be nervous at all for mine come September! (Just Kidding!)
P.S. I took this picture of them just before they said their vows.

Three Stooges

Well I thought it would be fitting to post a picture up of David Hartkopf (far left). I just got back from rehearsal, and one of the best rehearsals dinners I've ever been too. Make that one of the best dinners - period! OK, enough about food. The wedding is tomorrow at 1:00 pm. Congratulations David and Jessica! Yeah, I know the picture is of us at the rink, but it was the only picture I had of him on my computer.

Yes it's true...

the ultimate visit of a lifetime was cut short! As many readers know, Cherie was visiting for a week but had to leave with my brother Joel and his wife Jen for Cherie's great-grandmother's funeral. This is also part of the reason (dear commenters) that I have been failing to post blogs for the last week. It was sad that Mrs. Unsworth (spelling?) past away, however, she lived to the remarkable age of 107.

A Soccer Saturday evening!

Yes, here they are. The illustrious, the famous, the remarkable Burlington Youth Group doing their best burn as many pounds of sweat as possible. It must be noted that for security reasons, Alli and Amy are missing from the following pictures. I pondered the possibility of scanning pictures from last youth camp of them and posting them, but since I value the short time that I have been given on planet earth, I decided against it. I think the soccer idea took several of us a bit off guard, for by the time I took this picture, games such as croquet, Dominoes, golf, and other non exercising sports seemed to be quite enticing.

As you can see, John kept confusing the issue - trying to score with a football. Actually, I saw the most incredible play shortly after this picture was taken. John went to shoot the soccer ball in the net and Ezra pegged the ball from about 30 ft. away with the football.

I caught David here while the other team was on a four man breakaway. (just kidding) I think we all burned about 10 pounds in sweat.

The best part of the game.

Anthany in usual style leading the pack!

Here's Jake modeling for soccer weekly. Notice how his shoe laces match the top of his shirt.

Here he is folks!

John insisted that I put this picture up of him. (Just kidding) Actually we all gathered to play soccer but as you can plainly see, John had other plans.

It's official!

Yes, the papers have been signed! These pictures show images of our future house that Cherie and I will be renting from Mr. & Mrs. Rief. This picture is of the back deck which comes off of the master bedroom. Notice the cool tree that hangs over the table. With all the flowers, it's absolutely beautiful. OK, I'm biased. But who wouldn't be excited about their first house?

This will be who's staying with me come October. We thought it seemed like a good idea to split the cost of rent. (for any poor chap who's reading this and didn't know it, we're getting married come September 30th) <(:

This is a shot from the back of the house. The details might be hard to see but there's a nice looking flower bed along side the garage (on right) and a porch swing hanging from the deck. Just thought I'd clarify those crucial details! (:

And here it is from the front. I apologize that the picture isn't clearer but it was taken at night. The upstairs is one big room and the master bedroom is on the ground level. There's also a little rec room, office, and extra bathroom in the basement. The neighbourhood of the house is very nice (even including rustic looking street lights).

Soccer settled once and for all!

Amidst all this confusion, the final decision has been made!!! We're meeting at Boone Woods park this coming Saturday at 6:30 pm!
